V+다고 생각하다 ~ I think V
The basic verb for to think in Korean is 생각하다 . So we can use this verb when we want to express an opinion by using V+다고 생각하다.
Examples
비빔밥을 마시있다고 생각해요
I think bibimbap is delicious
좋다고 생각해요
I think it’s good
내 남자친구는 똑똑하다고 생각해요
I think my boyfriend is smart
내일 춥겠다고 생각해요
I think it will be cold tomorrow
수학시험이 어렵겠다고 생각해요
I think the maths exam will be hard

A+아/어지다 ~ To get or become A
Adding +아/어지다 to a adjective stem allows it to change to “become A” or “get A”

좋아요 –> 좋아져요
become/get better
추워요 –> 추워져요
become/get cold
슬프요 –> 슬프져요
become/get sad
-져요 can also be changed to 졌어요 for past tense
똑똑해졌어요
became/got smarter
똥똥해졌어요
became/got fat
나빠졌어요
became worse or got bad
It can also be used for the future tense, by using -질 거에요 (as 져요 is an abbreviation of 지어요)
나빠질 거에요
will become worse/bad
더워질 거에요
will become hot

N+을/를 알고 있어요? ~ Do you know?
By using “Noun+을/를 알고 있어요?”, we can ask if someone knows about the subject of the sentence ~
요리법을 알고 있어요? Do you know the recipe?
저 남자를 알고 있어요? Do you know that man?
답을 알고 있습니까? Do you know the answer?
그 이야기를 알고 있어요? Do you know the story?
요리법을 알고 있어요? Do you know the recipe?
저 남자를 알고 있어요? Do you know that man?
답을 알고 있습니까? Do you know the answer?
그 이야기를 알고 있어요? Do you know the story?
때문에 ~ Because
때문에 can be added to a noun to expresses reason or “because of”.
Examples
매운 음식 때문에 고생했어요.
I suffered from the spicy food.
담배 연기 때문에 눈이 아파요.
I’ve got sore eyes because of the cigarette smoke.
내 남자친구 때문에 한국어 배워요.
I’m learning Korean because of my boyfriend.

A/V+(으)니까 ~ Because of A/V, reason for judgement
When added to a verb or adjective, the Korean structure (으)니까 can be use to express ‘because of A/V’.
Examples
지금 바쁘니까 나중에 봐요.
I’m busy now so I’ll see you later.
“이거 왜 샀어요?” “싸니까요.”
“Why did you buy this?” “Because it was cheap.”
추우니까 따뜻한 옷을 입어 보세요.”
Since it’s cold, wear warm clothes.
Examples
지금 바쁘니까 나중에 봐요.

(안) V+아/어/여도 되다 ~ It’s okay (not) to V
We can use 아/어/여도 되다 added on to a verb to say ‘it’s okay to’. We can
also add a 안 to say ‘it’s okay not to’. We can use this pattern to ask permission and consent too.
Examples
그만해도 돼요.
It’s okay to stop.
지금 시작해도 돼요.
It’s okay to start now.
맛이 없으면 안 먹어도 돼요.
If it’s not tasty, it’s okay not to eat it.
시문을 읽어도 돼요.
It’s okay to read the newspaper.
이거 입어 봐도 돼요?
