V+자마자 ~ As soon as V

The grammar structure indicates one event immediately occuring after another, or ‘as soon as’. The structure V+는 대로 has a similar meaning, but is generally only used in future tense.

Examples
도착하자마자 전화할게요.
I’ll call you as soon as I arrive.
아침에 일어나자마자 밥을 먹었어요.
I ate as soon as I woke up.
그녀는 나를 보자마자 눈물을 흘렸다.
As soon as she saw me she began to cry.
