The difference between 아니요/아니에

 The difference between 아니요/아니에

1) In other words, 아니요 is simply "no". No further explanation is needed.아니에요 can express more information than just no. It means "It isn't... to or It isn't " in English and allows the speaker to add more information.
아니에요' is used when the speaker tries to give further information because the person asking the question is wrong. 아니요 is used in a simple negative sentence that doesn't need further information .
아니에요 is awkward when it's used in a simple negative sentence.

EX)
A:점심 먹었니?
Did you have lunch?
No, I didn't.

2) 아니에요 can be used in answer to a question if the speaker can give further information about it...
Also, if it is a simple negative sentence with -?,many Koreans are confused what to use because -? is used when one asks something with confidence..
In this case, the difference between 아니오 and 아니에요 isn't very clear because it depends on the speaker..

A:내일 집에 가요?
Are you going to go home tomorrow?
No, I'm not.
(I) am not trying to go to home tomorrow or That isn't true... I go to school tomorrow.)

You are prettier than your sister (a young sister)!
NO, she is prettier (than me)/That isn't true. She is prettier (than I am)

3) When one says with strong confidence , the 아니요 answer is awkward

A: Let's take the 621 bus because we should go to Jong-Ro
The 621 bus isn't a bus to go to Jong-Ro..or The bus isnot the 621 bus...The 602 bus goes to Jong-Ro..
